i3 or i5?

Hi everyone

I am really confused whether should I buy a laptop with i3 or i5 processor. I need it as I am joining college. I mainly need it for making and watching presentations, editing documents and watching movies.

Also I want to know if i3 will become an old thing in next couple of years as although I think i3 is good enough for me should I buy i5 as it is newer? I don't have problem in stretching my budget.

If there's no problem with a budget, then go for an i5. It will be able to keep up with modern software for longer before you have to swap it out for something better.

For your uses the I3 will do the job fine, the difference would be if you had to run some heavy programs on them. They will age just as fast.
