i am going to buy HP ENVY 15 k005tx . I just want to know whether there will be any bottleneck effect if we consider the combination of i7 4510u and GT 850m (4gb) ?

Solution
Hey!

The i7 4510U is likely equivalent to a i5-4000M. The "U" designation implies that the processor is made to be battery efficient so it trades performance for more battery life.

However, it's still a good processor and it won't bottle the 850M much. The i7-4700HQ is preferred, but the i7-4000 "U" series can handle gaming, as well.

Just some additional info! :)

Your real potential for a bottleneck will lie with the hard drive, but unless you're looking to play new games on ultra settings at 1080p, you shouldn't have any problems. I know this example is a few generations old now, but I've got an i7-2670QM with a GT540M, and neither could be considered a "bottleneck" when used together (except maybe with HD video editing, the 540M can easily run out of video RAM, but that's about it). The only bottleneck in my case was the HD which I replaced with a SSD last year.
