^^ So you're basing your innovation on whether people buy it now?
innovative products are more ( and the same time less ) than just an innovative technology.
it's about implementing those technologies and combining them to offer new opportunities
It's not even about the success ( although if the product is innovative and affordable in its category, it results to have a greater impact : take the segway or the tesla and compare them to the equally innovative but more successful first iphone )
You should think a bit as a designer that takes all the things in consideration and then judge the whole.
Cause if you consider in other ways, nothing is really innovative:
you can always say : bleah a new screen, bleah a new interface...
without a whole judgment even the first computers weren't more than calculators, but they offered and innovated our opportunities.
so the first touch smartphone
so the first commercial electric car
and so on
and now the first very big high res monitor, of course it's less innovative than a new science discovery, but still it innovates the product
