Solved! In between 3 headphones (m50x - DT990 - SD 598)

I'm a noob with this stuff and a pretty average joe. I have a gaming rig and listen to music pretty regularly. I don't watch a ton of movies but I do game a bit (FPS, Witcher 3, Fallout 4, etc). I'm between a few headsets (~$160 USB limit) and can't seem to put my finger on them.

Music - Of the music I listen to, I don't have an amp and don't plan on buying one. I listen to a series of pop, electronic, rock, and dance. I do like a little more V shape, but I don't want bass in my face (Dr. Dre...).

I think I've factored out the m50x only because I kind of like the open-back design (first pair of hifi headphones).

I own the ath-m50x. I use it when I am playing single player games. They are absolutely terrific.
