So i have an sd card that hides my files, as i understand it this is caused by a virus on the card,

here is the problem though
most of the methods ive found online have to do with
scanning the card with an antivirus program and deleting it,
then either selecting show hidden folders and files in folder options,
or changing the atibutes via cmd

i have tried all this
trend micro doesn't find any viruses on the sd card
show hidden files is already selected
and cmd attribute changes failed to make the files appear

does anyone know any other ways to get this card working,
i don't care if it means losing the info on it
i just want to get the card working in a manner that allows me to use it without having all my files hidden in the future

Plug the SD card into your computer and open up "Computer" from the start menu.

Right click the card in your computer menu and choose the Format option.

Select FAT32 and push start.

Does this complete successfully?

If this doesnt complete successfully, open with Disk Partition tool from the start menu search box. Once this is open, you can find your SD drive, and DELETE VOLUME, Once thats complete, click your SD drive and choose CREATE VOLUME.

You should be good to go after this.

Let us know how it works.

i've tried reformatting it several times actually

same problem persist even after reformatting

right now im trying wiping the whole disk (not just partition) in the hopes that if the infection is on a second hidden partition it will be erased

Thats why the next step I listed was:

Click your start button, type in Disk Part and select create and format hard disk partitions >> find your SD card >> right click DELETE VOLUME >> right click create volume.

This will format it at an even deeper level than windows format program. It will assign a new letter to it as well.

What exactly is the wiping the whole disk that you're doing?

they are not being hidden so much as they are being moved to elsewhere on the drive judging by the fact that if i recopy the missing files it does not ask me to replace the previous ones,
also for some reason my partition manager doesn't refer to it as an sdxc card but as a super floppy
