Install software on Smartphones ?

Can we install software like Pocket Informant, HPC Notes, HDBase, etc,
etc on Smartphones like O2 XPhone ?

If they are Smartphone versions, and the phone is not locked to
prevent installation of software that isn't properly signed (digital
signature), then yes.

However, I'm not aware of any of that software having Smartphone
versions - the software is designed for a Pocket PC screen size
(meaning 240x320 QVGA).

Though generally there are quite a lot of Smartphone applications
considering how few people actually own such a device.

But with the WM 2003 SE update Smartphone also supports 240 x 320 pixels.
Even though the UIs are different, this could help porting PPC applications
to Smartphone.

Do keep in mind that the big difference between the smartphone and PPC is
not the screen size as much as the UI. The PPC being a touch screen and the
smartphone being a joystick, buttons and softkeys.
