Instead of bookmarks, can I put shortcuts on the main browser screen?

My husband is fairly computer illiterate but can use shortcuts I put on his Windows 8 laptop to access his favorite sites. Can I do the same or similar thing on the Internet Browser screen on a Smart TV to give him a simple 2-step access?

Yes, bookmark the thing you want to make to a shortcut, and then it should be on the bookmark bar at the top, simply click and drag the bookmark over onto the desktop

I doubt you can do it on a smart TV. No desktop.

Unless your smartTV has a browser built-in, u can't just go anywhere, can only go where the defined icons allow you.
