After many days of contemplation, I think I have decided on the FORCE 16F2-012.

The fact that it carries a GTX 570M for less than $1000 is pretty remarkable since laptops upwards of $2000 carry similar cards.

The question is this: it comes with a 2nd Generation Intel® Core™ i5-2430M with an available upgrade to the 2nd Generation Intel® Core™ i7-2630QM, 2.0-2.8GHz for $73 dollars. Is it worth it? Note that I am already pushing my budget, but still heavily undecided.

Also any comments/suggestions on the laptop itself would be appreciated.

That laptop is my current recommendation for users who wants a gaming laptop from the approx $1000 price range for US users.

i7 is worth it is you use heavily threaded application.
