Intermittent Charging / Not Charging even with AC Adapter Plugged In - DELL

Hello, my laptop is a Dell New Inspiron 15R 5547. When I plugg the ac adapter, the status of charging switch intermittently between charging / not charging, even with the ac adapter always plugged. I've changed the places to charge, but the problem continues. Does anybody have this problem?

hello there have you tried posting in the laptop tech support forums? also i would suggest trying another laptop charger and see if that helps, it could also could possibly be a bad charging port but im not sure hope this helps

I'm sure you have already resolved this somehow, but I was searching for solutions and wish I had found what I did to "fix" it.

There is an ID pin in the center of the charging plug that has to align with a 2 pin prong inside the charging port (dead center). Anyway, this pin became unaligned and I just needed to mess with the pins inside the jack (the 2 center pins, not the 4 outer pins) until it charged. We'll see how long this holds. Good luck anyone googling this like me.

Thanks for suggesting this procedure. Since my notebook was under warranty, Dell changed both ac adapter and charger. However, I will keep in mind this procedure, in case of this problem occurs again.
