Thank you for thatA properly configured Win 7 device should still be able to access the Internet. However, the advice to move to Win 10 is good from a security standpoint. Win 11 won't like your 6th gen CPU in the aforementioned laptop.

There is a possibility that the installation media could be defective. You would be better served going here and getting Win 10 to perform a full, clean install.
