"Invalid message recipients" bug? in Messaging

I recently got a Dell AximX30 (624 and wi-fi) with Windows Mobile 2003se

I'm having trouble sending email - rather, I've *never* sent an email with
this device, and it's really getting old. No matter where I go or how I
connect, any email in the "outbox" ends up in drafts, and I get the
following message in my inbox:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Subj: Invalid message Recipients
Body:
Your message '_____' was not sent and has been moved to the Drafts folder.
The following recipients are invalid:
___________@___________
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The email is a known valid address. There are a few places to tell the
machine to go and look for address, to "verify" them. I have seen this
problem on the web and people always say it is a problem with someone's ISP
but I don't think that's the case. I have turned off all verification,
played with where it looks for addresses, tried phoney names, really all I
can think of and I'm quite at my wit's end.

Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

Thanks!
-Abe.

If you are 100% sure that this is not related to your SMTP server, try to
use the IP address of the SMTP server instead of the DNS name. I have seen
similar issues on a few devices.

I'm still not sure where to look here. It doesn't matter whether I send
this at work, on campus (three different networks) or at home - since they
are all very different ISP providers, I'm not sure that's my problem?
Perhaps it is. I guess I've got the same SMTP server for each.

Ok, perhaps I'd better rethink this - I CAN send from work when I use work's
outgoing server. Is there any way I can make a list of outgoing servers so
I can write messages on the PDA and send them no matter which network I'm
connected to? I don't want to keep two sets of email to check one account
just so I can send them. Anyways, thanks for the help!
-Abe.
