iPad Mini Extremely Slow

As title says, my iPad Mini from 4 years ago has started to become very very slow. I mean slow like when I turn it on and try to swipe to enter my passcode, it takes a few seconds before a key is entered. Also, when loading apps and just generally, it's just really slow.

I mainly use this iPad for video streaming like YouTube and Twitch. I'm certain it's not the space or version as I have plenty of storage space and version is updated to the latest.

Is there anything I can do to solve the slowness?

Check through your apps see if there are any that look dodgy (you didn't download/don't need them/know what they do)
May not be, but recently, apps I've got on my android devices have been "updated" and are suddenly clogging them up with other unnecessary data <_<
perhaps apple apps are doing the same?
Especially games that have background processes that download videos and ads to your device that can slow it down.
Clearing your cached data might help too

Edit: may even be because it is upto date
Until recently I worked printing photos, the latest ios update stopped any apple product newer than an iphone 4 being able to talk to any of our computers to put in orders <_<
