Iphone Database APP

Hey, maybe this is the wrong forum to ask a question on this subject, however here it goes.

I am interested in creating my own app, this app will involve the use of a database, I am curious how I will create the database, whether I can create it on simple software like Microsoft access or will have to learn how to use some app specific database software.
