Is 1080p videos are played in 5.1 surround?

Is 1080p videos are played in 5.1 surround? What about you tube videos? also the movies in yify torrents?

I know that youtube videos are presented in stereo 2.0.
Yify movies are also stereo because yify tries to compress the size as much as possble and making them stereo would raise the size by hundreds of megabytes.

1080p is the resolution of video content only. audio does not have to be surround sound.

youtube is stereo as well as most internet sources.

some blueray video audio is also stereo only but most is surround sound.

netflix and other streaming content may or may not be surround sound depending on the content you are viewing.
