Is 1200w speakers good for gaming?

Is 1200w speakers good for gaming?
my mom just got me these speakers and im not sure if its good or not?

i use it for gaming like skyrim, battlefield 3 and others for the pc and ths ps3

so what do you think?

You say nothing on what type of speakers they are.

They are probably not 1200W, what is the brand and model? I have a 1200W Velodyne subwoofer and it shakes the entire house at 50% volume. No computer card would run that much power, you would need to go with an optical output to a high power amp/receiver and then to the speakers, which provides excellent sound for gaming.

Assuming they plug into your computer you will be deaf by the time you are done playing. If that is your goal then go for it.

I wouldn't use optical(S/PDIF) but go with HDMI if you can. S/PDIF has limitations compared to the better format which is HDMI.
A sound card or on board chip doesn't have an amp(just a headphone amp) to power regular speakers.

Like other posters asked, we need to know what computer you have and what speakers you are using.
