is Asus better than other windows based laptops?

Seeking a laptop for my Photoshop / lightroom work. Most opinions on various forums are for Asus. My budget is about 1200-1300 euros. Spoke to a software engineer friend and he suggested Toshiba satellite series. I went to a computer shop and the guy said I should buy acer aspire ( i7). I understand that for 500-600 euro laptop it doesn;t really matter which brand you buy but I see that even laptops that cost over 1000 euros, from processors to graphic cards, they all are the same ( Intel processor, Nvidia graphics ect)
what I have read so far about brands
1: Asus ( over all good) build their own laptops but build quality is not so good
2: Acer: Good build quality, good configuration but horrible cooling system
3: MSI cooling problem- weak battery
4: Toshiba: Few choices, not so known in Europe and spare parts would be a problem

PS: I had horrible experience with HP and Dell. So they are out of my list. Never been an apple fan

For your purpose the asus is the best as they make good multimedia laptops with good display. You could look at their pro line if you want but a asus rog should be good enough for you unless you require workstation graphics.

Thanks for the reply TechneeeQ and Velo3100. Asus ROG was on my mind but I hear that it is a great system in a cheap plastic body. Especially the ROG series . So I am a bit worried. What about MSI? is it true that MSI's cooling is not so good? Also, I am not sure whether MSI offer PSI screen. Does it make a lot of difference in terms of quality of the display? I found the ROG IPS display extremely good. Much better than Acer Aspire IPS display.

Please advice because I wanted to buy one soon. Or should I just wait for more user reviews of ROG series and then decide? Since they are new, I don't see many user reviews even on amazon.

Msi's cooling is just as good as asus. Just make sure that you get the ge series or the dominator series. As for the PSI, I have no idea what that is. Did you mean ips?

Nevertheless, it is affordable, some other dominator series are over 2000 euros.

The laptop will be able to do what you need to do. Just make sure that the colour accuracy and colour gamut is enough for you.

For laptops I normally look at Asus and Lenovo first and have been pleased with all I been involved with (and better yet the clients have ), Generally go with ROG models from Asus and no problems, if leery of them might look at the Lenovo offerings

Thank you tradesman and velo3100. I think I will go for the ROG series. It found it a bit plasticy but in a world in which choices are getting increasingly restricted, I guess, I will have to be content with the "cheap plastic body" Which basically means, be extra cautious while backpacking Thanks once again for your advice.
