I saw it on sale for $1100 in my area, just wondering if i should grab the deal or not. Are there new models rolling out soon?

thanks,
Vic

Solution

Probably not, depending on where you live. You can get a refurb for $800 at compusa:
http://www.compusa.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5250511&SRCCODE=PGCMPUSA&cm_mmc_o=2mHCjCVybgwTyz__wyCjCVqHCjCdwwp

Also, the new 32nm intel chips will start to show up. With their lower power profile, I expect that there will be lots of more effective offerings. Look around for reviews.

thanks a lot for your responses!!
Esp the post about compusa, wow, thats a killer deal, i think the only difference between the vx-A1 and that is the processor. The one i posted has a Q9000 Quad Core 2.0GHz.

I dont want to shoot over 1.2k, and i really like asus, so i think ima stick with that brand. I def need it before July of this year, if i wait a month or so, what should be expecting at 1.1 to 1.2k?

I would like this to be intended as a desktop replacement, and i hope it handles games well :)

again,
Thanks for the help guys..
