Hi,

I have a Dell XPS L502X Notebook. My notebook does not have a Mobile Broadband card in it. When I had a look at my notebook had a place for a Sim card underneath the battery.

Is it possible for one to add a Mobile Broadband card into this notebook? If so, can I add any or must it be a Dell mobile card?

My Specs are:

Intel i7 2630QM |6GB DDR3 RAM |500GB HDD |Nvidia GT 525M 1GB DDR3|Intel HD Graphics 3000 |15.6 HD WLED Screen |2.0MP HD Webcam

Thanks.

Did the Dell XPS L502X offer an option to order a Mobile Broadband configuration?

If so, then yes, you run a cellular mobile internet connection with an add-in card and a mobile broadband wireless account.

Thanks. My notebook did come with that option. So, do I buy this card from Dell then open up my laptop and plug it in? Or is it already there, it just needs some weird thing for it to be activated.

My notebook has a SIM Card slot underneath the battery slot. Do I have to buy the Dell wireless card, or can I buy any Wireless card brand?

You'll need to buy a supported Broadband mini card or USB dongle. Buying one from your Wireless ISP is probably a good idea. (example, AT&T or Sprint)

And you'll need a cellular data plan with it's own monthly charges from your wireless carrier to get the SIM. AT&T has a plan for 5GB of bandwidth for $50 a month.
