I have been working on my PC recently and have observed that it is slowing down for no apparent reason. I checked task manager and while MacAfee wasn't taking too much CPU, it was going HAM on my HDD. Could this cause a sluggish computer, or might it be something else?

Thanks

of course. Although it won't affect gaming performance, it will affect the speed of which you load something from the hdd. You could try searching for an option in mac afee to turn off autoscan so it doesnt go ham on your hdd
