Is this good enough for these few games.

Hi Im looking at laptops to play the stalker series and fallout 3 and new vegas.
Would the Lenovo z 50 75 Amd A10 7300 be good enough for this?

Probably at the lowest settings but I would not recommend it. What gpu does this laptop have? I say this as the cpu is very weak.

It's an app so it's a built in gpu but a quick search brings up a radeon r6 which is equivalent to a Gts 720M

They are all wrong, I have a laptop with both an a8-6410 and an a10 7300, both play fallout 3, NV, Skyrim flawlessly @medium- high @720/768.

The A10-7300 is slightly better on average in gaming than an i5 5200u with HD5500, I know because I have them both in front of me. My daughter has racked up just over 160 hours of fallout 3 with a couple of mods, and no crashes on the A8-6410, and that particular Lenovo g50 model runs exceptionally cool. I am very surprised with it's performance.

Thanks for suggestions guys, there is no budget so to speak but i dont want a top of the line one just something to play those older classic pc exclusives and F3 so if the A10 can do that then fine, if im honest i have a ps4 for modern games but i gave up pc gaming about six months ago cos im fed up with being the second option and getting frankly poor ports that we have to wait 3 weeks after launch just to play!!

And then theres all the messing around to get it to run at 60fps..........


Nah i just want a laptop to play the oldies, Im currently struggling through STALKER SoC on a Sony Vaio with a AMD A2 E1800 which is weaker than the old pc i had in 1999, infact the laptop i had in 2001/2002 played Soldier of Fortune easier than this!

The A10-7300 should be able to play those older games without much issue. However, the A10-7300 has the slower version of the Radeon R6 (Kaveri) graphic core. The faster version is in the A10-7400p.

I have a friend who was interested in playing Skyrim (newer than those older games) on his laptop, but it only has a Core i5-4200u and the Intel HD 4400 graphics core which is less powerful than the slower version of the Radeon R6 (Kaveri) graphics core. I have a laptop with basically the same specs as his, but my laptop also a dedicated Radeon HD 8850m graphics chip. I installed Skyrim and all the expansion on my laptop. I tweaked the SkyrimPref.ini file to improve performance by disabling shadows and a few other things.

I let him play Skyrim on my laptop for a while at different resolutions; 1366x768 (40+ FPS average outdoors), 1600x900 (30 FPS average outdoors) and 1920x1080 (low 20's FPS average outdoors). Ultimately he decided to buy the game since he thought the performance at 1600x900 resolution was good enough for him. I gave him a copy of the SkyrimPref.ini that I tweaked.


Fallout 3 & NV has been out for quite some time so I am sure there are plenty of mods that can help improve performance if need be. I am pretty sure the A10-7300 / A10-7400p is good enough to play Fallout 4 at 1366x768 which will be using an updated Creation Engine used in Skyrim.
