Is this ram compatible with my laptop?

I have a hp pavilion 15 ck005no product number 2VZ56EA#UUW. I checked the specs from HPs website which says I have a 8gb ddr4 2133mhz ram. link here. However, CPU-z seems to say that its a 2400 mhz ddr4 if i am not wrong?

I have a samsung ddr4 8gb, 2133 mhz, cl15, 1.2V ram and wonder if I could insert this into the laptop without any problems? Is there any risk that something can go wrong?

I would take the memory out of the laptop and look up all the info you can on it and see if you can find its exact specs. Memory of different specs like voltage and timings are most important. Different speeds of modules is less important as the motherboard's memory controller will only run the slower speed of the two memory sticks. So say if you have 2133MHz and 2400MHz sticks, both sticks will operate at 2133MHz. That's *IF* they will play nice with each other. DDR4 memory is more testy than DDR2 and DDR3 on mixing and matching non-kit modules. At least on desktops anyway.

Your CPU-Z says your memory is running at 1332 MHZ ( 665 MHz X2) and that is a DDR4 2400MHZ memory ( it could be run at 2133 at JEDEC#6 = first column to the left ZPU-z memory info with 1090MHZ (x2 = 2133) timings 15-15-15-35)
check your laptop Bios whether it has proper memory timings configuration (whether it is at default or auto clocks or at custom settings and try to revert it to auto everything)
Install another software like AIDA64 or Speccy to get memory brand and more specs.
Last resort ( could be done earlier though) open laptop and check actual memory modules information written on them.
Could you upload a screenshot of CPU-Z where it shows CPU info ( main first screen)?

I cant seem to find any RAM settings in the BIOS? I am not used to look in BIOS but I wouldve seen the ram settings wouldnt I?

I opened up the laptop. This is the RAM

Oh man, you have a set of heterogeneous memory: not only the brand but also the frequency : one memory stick is Samsung DDR4 8GB 2133MHZ cas 15, the other is Hynix brand 8GB 2400MHz cas 16 ( that was shown on your CPU-Z screen capture)., not advised to combine memory sticks with different native frequencies and timings, and since both are decent 8GB you could be: Better off running on just one stick of ram, I'll go with the Samsung 8GB DDR4 2133MHZ,
It's possible to run both sticks together at 2133 Mhz with cas 15 (as Hynix module frequency 2400 and cas 16 is close Samsung module specs), you should be able to do that without any issues, give it a try if you wish and do a screen capture of your CPU-z with each memory module (where it says slot#1 or 2 etc) screen capture.

Well, the voltage of both is the same (1.2v), but the CAS latency is different (CL11 for the Hynix and CL10 for the Samsung). Stick it in there and try it. You will not cause any harm to the laptop. It just will fail to boot (or even post to BIOS). I'd say you have less than a 25% of these two different memory modules working together being DDR4 modules.

I tried and it seems to work. On startup I got a black screen saying something with BIOS and then enter to restart, so i did, and that screen has not been showed again ever since.

The question is if I really should go with both of them or like R0GG said, stick with one of them. now when it seems to work, is there still a risk that issues can arise?

There is no harm having both of them installed as long as they play well together !
I thought those number 10 and 11 at end of memory numbers on pics were too low for this frequency, my guess was right it's CL15 for samsung and CL16 for Hynix.
Can you please upload CPU-Z screenshot on MEMORY tab so we could check actual memory clock timings and clock, it should say 1066 for MHz and 15 15 15 36

Seems like your bios is defaulting again to those settings of 665MHZ x 2= 1332 MHz only
Try to go into your Bios and configure your memory clock timing and voltage manually
2133 MHZ, 15-15-15-36, make sure voltage is 1.2,
on reboot you should see in Bios Post memory frequency or in Bios interface or wait until windows loads and check again with CPU-z in memory tab.
Even if you could get it to work stable at 2133 Mhz, I would keep one ram stick and buy-pair it to same exact model from ebay, and sell the other remaining ram stick, maybe a 10 to 15$ loss worst case scenario.

The DRAM Frequency does however seem to go up to 1064 sometimes(example when opening chrome), is that not what I want?

Sorry did not notice you were already on the system configuration tab which looks to say the least less than satisfying ! How about main tab does it give you any info about the memory?
On the laptop Hp support page >> https/support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-pavilion-15-ck000-laptop-pc/17296798/model/18677240 there is some recent Bios update available as well as some tool that could help accessing to memory timings HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI (you could download here >> http/ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp85001-85500/sp85413.exe) if that doesn't work swap one of the memory sticks on ebay to run identical memory modules ( I would keep the Samsung) it won't set you back much money wise and you'll be up and running 16 Gigs of ram for their rated speed in less than a week.
