Istalling Outlook on 2 PC's?

I just bought an Ipaq rx3115. Since ActiveSync will allow me to sync with
two computers, can I install the included Outlook 2002 and activate it on
two computers (a desktop and a laptop). I would like to sync with the
laptop when I'm taveling and mainly with the desktop when I'm home. I
haven't found any information on this in the user guide. If I have to
actually buy a second copy of Outlook just to do this I'll wish I hadn't
given up my Palm. I've been syncing Palms with both computers for years
without having to buy any extra software.

The Outlook EULA allows you to install Outlook on a desktop and a second portable device for the
exclusive use of the primary user of the first copy... To view the EULA for Outlook on your desktop,
start Outlook and go to "Help -> About Office Microsoft Outlook"...

Thanks for the information. I read the EULA, but I apparently skimmed it
too quicly or something.

The retail Office EULA states that: -

1. GRANT OF LICENSE. Microsoft grants you the following rights provided
that you comply with all terms and conditions of this EULA:
1.1 Installation and use. You may:
(a) install and use a copy of the Software on one personal computer or
other device; and
(b) install an additional copy of the Software on a second, portable device
for the exclusive use of the primary user of the first copy of the Software.

SO you should be OK as you state your second computer is indeed a laptop.

Are you using Outlook on both a Desktop & a Laptop? If so, are you doing
anything to synch between the desktop & laptop?

Yes. I have an older version of Outlook on the laptop that I sync my Pocket
PC with so the PIM information stays the same on both PC's. I asked the
activation question because I would like to put the Outlook 2002 that came
with my new handheld of both PC's so as to keep everything the same.

However, I don't sync Files or Favorites to the laptop from the Pocket PC
when I'm at home because I already use a program called Backer to sync all
My Documents files and Favorites between the PC's. Since I always sync
everything between the Pocket PC and the desktop, Backer takes care of
sending these file updates from the desktop to the laptop. That takes care
of keeping all those files the same on all 3 machines. Also, I'm concerned
about what compliations might come up if I "double sync" those files.

When I'm away from home I sync everything between the Pocket PC and the
laptop and, of course, when I get home I catch the desktop up.
