Hi,
My laptop model a540LJ keyboard problema first started as when number key section of the keyboard is ON number 3 key is typed on its own. So i turned off that section. It worked for a while. Some times keyboard stops working whenever i uninstalled the keyboard driver and restarted the system it worked like that for few times. Two days back spacebar of the keyboard and letter k is not typing all other keys worked. When ever keyboard acts weirdly in device manager there will be an unknown device showing. So i uninstall the unknown device thing and will do the same thing all over again and it worked again for few times. Now keyboard stopped working altogether no unknown device showing on device manger but key board is not reponding. Normal keyboard driver is showing under keyboard section of device manager and it is updated. Nothing is spilled on laptop, keyboard .is this a hardware or software problem i dont have an external keyboard to check whether it works or not other than that what are the solutions to this thing. The laptop is few months old. The problem started recently.
Sorry for the long post
I am using windows 10 x64 on the system.

I would normally suggest uninstalling the drivers/reboot first, but you already did that. :)

Try booting up in "Safe Mode" and see if the keyboard works fine. If it does, then this is a software issue. So I would check the system for malware, viruses, etc. Now if it still happens in "Safe Mode" then I would look into replacing the keyboard. You can connect an external one in the mean time to be able to use the laptop.

How to enter "Safe Mode" when booting the computer.

In Windows 8 and 10...

As your computer restarts, press F8 (possibly a few times) to enter "Safe Mode"

a. Press the "F4" key to Enable "Safe Mode".
(The computer will then start in "Safe Mode" with a minimal set of drivers and services.)

b. Press the "F5" key to...

b. Press the "F5" key to Enable "Safe Mode" with Networking.
( Once "Safe Mode" with Networking starts, Windows is in Safe Mode, with additional network and services for accessing the Internet and other computers on your network.)

c. Press the "F6" key to Enable "Safe Mode" with Command Prompt.
(In "Safe Mode" with "Command Prompt" starts Windows in Safe Mode, with a Command Prompt window instead of the Windows interface. This option is mostly only used by IT professionals.)

Now sign in to the computer with your account name and password. (If you have one set.) When you are finished troubleshooting, you can exit "Safe Mode" restarting your computer.

In Windows 7/Vista/XP...

1. Immediately after turning on the computer, or restarting it (usually after you hear your computer beep), tap the F8 key, repeatedly, in 1 second intervals.

2. The computer will then display hardware information and run a memory test.

3. Next the "Advanced Boot Options" menu will appear.

4. In the "Advanced Boot Options" menu use the arrow keys to select "Safe Mode" or "Safe Mode with Networking" and press ENTER.
