Hi, this Lenovo Ideapad y700's keyboard started suddenly shutting itself off since a few weeks ago and will cease to function until we hard reboot. The mouse and other usb devices work fine, but the built-in PS/2 and any usb keyboards will shut off, so far it's only done it while playing various different games but we're not sure if it's coincidental or not.
The keyboard just stops responding to any input, using a usb keyboard temporarily fixes it, but it will eventually stop responding too.
During the time when the mouses wasn't locked ingame, (thereby releasing the need to hard reboot) and soft restarting, it gives the restart dialog that requires input, so we have to hard reboot anyway.
Also, when it cuts out, it will keep sending the input that was held when it happened. (for instance, W for walking or CTRL for crouching)
Any ideas?
We also already tried uninstalling the keyboard & restarting and checked if filter keys were on.

It's just vaguely possible that your keyboard connector in the laptop is making a poor connection and affecting things. Try removing the connector ribbon from...

Thanks, but if you refer to the last line we'd already tried that, but I suppose it was a bit vague.

Sorry, but again, we've tried that.

Yes, it struck me odd too. Now it won't work even if we try plugging it in while it's doing it, while before we could get an extra bit of time by plugging in an ext as a temporary solution. Very annoying, hope someone knows
