keyboard on laptop problems

My laptop keyboard is not functioning properly and have not found any solutions. every keyworks except i have to type extremely slow or even press a key like 3 times for it to work. i also cant even hold key down it just delays typing the letter or whatever i am pressing does this mean i need a new keyboard??
