laptop cpu/psu crackling

Got an Acer Spin 5 two days ago. My issue is that when the laptop power mode is on performance, it makes a weird crackling noise when clicking something, moving the mouse, or watching a video. As I switch the power modes down a notch, the laptop makes less and less noise. On max power saver the noise is completely inaudible.

What can this be? It has no harddrive, no gpu. Only movable part is the fans, which I am pretty sure is not the culprit because I can watch a 4k60fps video to make the fans spin faster but the noise is still not there (if I'm in power saver mode).

Also, is this bad for the laptop? If not I can maybe set it on power saver permanently, as it doesnt look to slow down that much at all.

That is rather odd. It should not make that noise. Were it me, I would take it back and have them exchange it for a correctly functioning device.
