Laptop fan keeps trying to turn on but can't

I turn on laptop and after it boots and fan kicks on I hear it trying to start but it keeps acting like it stuck and won't spin. There was burning smell comming from laptop but that was fixed one of the antenna wire got fried and burned through the plastic to the motherboard but luckily I think no damage occured as I cannot see any. Screen stopped turning on aswell unless I did not wait long enough. It a dell m6500. Need help. Was working perfectly fine earlier today.

If it is not starting and the display is also not working, I would start to wonder if something did get damaged on the motherboard when you smelled that burning.

It was posting at first but then stopped. I took it apart to the point where palm rest is so I can see the fans and wires. Gonna check if they are all good. Could something else be blocking fan from starting?

Good news I managed to fix it and got the screen to work again. I think it was cmos battery as when I tried to take it out the thing fell apart but my dad was able to connect the wires back to the connection and it works now. Both fans are working now but I do not know how I fixed it lol. Luck maybe?
