Looking for a decent 15" laptop that will run Starcraft 2 on at least medium. Main uses will be starcraft 2 and school stuff. I assume gaming will be the driving factor for the system.

Price range is < $800. No specific brand in mind, but I need it sooner than later so cannot wait a long time for custom build. Located in the US.

Would appreciate some advice.

Hello firediver;

You're correct. Gaming is the driving factor in hardware requirements...and along with that... the price.

One very good option:
Lenovo Y570 Sandy Bridge 15" notebook
Core i3 $720 / Core i5 $765 with 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD, JBL speakers, 15.6" 1366x768 LCD w/ GT 555M graphics.

Thanks for the info, I will look into those.

From what I have read so far, a separate video card (with ~1GB dedicated) is the best upgrade as opposed to settling for something like an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250 graphics?

If you're not against it you can look at ebay for deals on used Alienware and Dell xps laptops. My Area 51 m15x with 8800m gtx cost me $300 looking for the right deal and has provided solid gaming performance and decent battery life for what it is.
