Laptop for Work/Play?

Hey Guys
So at the moment i am using a surface pro 1 (yes i know) and while its ok, i really need to upgrade. While i have a decent desktop rig, i travel a lot, and i cant just take my desktop anywhere.

I am looking for a laptop that can run games (mostly steam) pretty well, but can also last a whole day and more (7hrs +) in terms of battery life if it has to, without it being like 5+ cm thick(so can be used/transported on planes ect) and have a touch screen.

I know that this is pretty much the sweet spot for laptops, and that there is always compromises, but anything close to my preferences would be HUGELY helpful. (ps there is a budget, so don't go all out please!)

what would happen to be your budget? there are a lot of very good laptops at different price points so having a set limit on the cost would be very helpful

That was the most powerful laptop in your region. It supports i7 4712 processor and gt 850m.
