Laptop graphics processor throttled by heat

I have a 5 year old Samsung laptop with an i7 and NVIDIA GeForce GT525M. I've found that when gaming the GPU can only run for around 5 minutes or less at max before throttling down to around 40% after its temperature hits 95° C. Do I have a particularly crapy laptop, or is this pretty common?

While throttling down at that high a temp to save itself is completely normal, we can't know if you have the usual crappy laptop or a particularly crappy laptop without a least a model# to go by.
