Solved! Laptop inbulit mic not working properly

The inbuIlt mic on my Fujitsu AH531 laptop has stopped working partially for sometime.The OS is windows 7 and the drivers and software are from Realtek . The problem is that whenever I open a recording program and try to record sound with it, the mic catches sound for a second or two and after that stops working.After that I tried speaking loudly placing my mouth near the mic port located on the laptop's lid near the webcam.Then It will catch sound.I have tried updating the drivers .The recording device setting have also been configured in the control panel but this don't seem to work.If it was a hardware problem the mic won't record at all, am I right ?And my headphone mic is working perfectly when plugged in.Can someone help me sort out this issue

Partially right, I've come across some laptop's where dirt and debris were blocking the mic's field of listening and thus had reduced pick up capabilities. On the other hand I've seen mics that were physically alright but electrically compromised. Might I ask if you used a previous revision of Realtek's audio drivers after seeing this issue or are you on their latest revision i.e R2.80?

Likewise, just make sure your motherboard/laptop BIOS is up to date if you're on a former version.

Yes,as you said I have been using an older version of the realtek audio drivers before I updated it to the latest version.I didnt update the bios because I thought it was'nt necessary and fearing if it would brick my system
