Laptop monitor powers on, can see LOGO, then goes black. Connected to external monitor, can see desktop. Have tried changing projection options so its DUPLICATE instead of just displaying on 2ndary monitor. Still nothing.
Just happened after running a windows update, cause the SKYPE app kept crashing and wouldnt engage the webcam. I checked to see if my laptop camera driver had any updates, it did not, but WINDOWS had some updates. Ran those, and SKYPE worked. But then the display stopped.

model - MSI GE73, Windows 10

I take it the camera also dosent work in skype either
You can try uninstalling and reinstalling the camera in device manager

If not try manually running updates

Type check updates into the search and select

You could try a system restore

1. When in windows click start then whilst holding down the shift key press restart (please wait should now appear
2. At the bluedcreen press "troubleshoot" then "system restore" here you can go back to a date is was working, dont go back more than a month, try latest point.
3. Give it 15 minutes to restore and see how it is.

Yeah, thought about that. Trying to stay away from a system restore.
I only have one restore point and its when the update was made.

also,
i feel like its gotta be something simple like a setting issue, power setting, etc.

the Windows update was just from some dumb windows 10 features.

Perhapes graphics driver then you could either uninstall the on there

Press windows key and X together
Click device manage
Click on the + next to graphics adaptor
Right click the graphics driver and select uninstall

Then restart and i will install it itsself

or download the latest graphics driver from manufacures website
