It All started a week ago. I was copying one large file to my laptop hard disk, when my laptop crashed. I tried turning it on.. It started taking very much time. I used power button to force shut down it. It take so much time. Even BIOS. I used my laptop without charger and it started. Nothing appeared. and crashed.. Later I connected it with charger and it worked. I left it turned on for 20 to 30 minutes. It started and booted to Windows 7 and then it thought that its some kind of virus so I installed an antivirus and it worked till 66% with 1 threat and it crashed with Blue screen of death. Once when i tried starting it. It gave an BCD error and once it gave normal boot error. I tried repairing it. Failed to do that and once i used system restore. It didn't help either. then i tried live booting to puppy linux to clear everything and start new but it just showed black screen and now when i use power button. It is not starting. it is just showing light in power button and off.. Help me

Hi,

Please do try these basic troubleshooting steps with boot issue.
- Start by doing a hard reboot, remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter then press and hold the power button for 20 seconds then try booting it up again.
- If this will not work, do test the AC adapter if it's working properly. Remove the battery and power the laptop with just the AC adapter connected and see if it will boot up or not. do also try a different AC adapter that has the same voltage and see if it will work or not.
- Proceed with reseating the RAM's if trying a different AC adapter will not work, remove them all for couple of seconds then put them back in making sure everything is seated properly.
- If all these will not work do also try connecting an external monitor and see if you'll get a display from it or not.
- Chances are either the LCD was damaged or it's the motherboard itself.
