Laptop performance compared to PS4

Solution
The Intel core i7-4710MQ will certainly beat the 8 core Jaguar processor used in a PS4 to a pulp. But I think the GPU inside the PS4 is supposed to be almost as powerful as a Radeon HD 7870 (I don't really follow consoles). If that is true, then the GTX 880m is only a little bit more powerful.

Personally I would go with a laptop. I had a PS3 but it broke down a month or so ago (I believe it was the optical drive). But enough of my story, from my experience if you get a laptop or PC, you will be able to play more games with more users online.

If you get a laptop, you will achieve a better performance than a PS4. As a PS4 has less detail graphics than a PC and also playing on a 60Hz TV is a suitable choice.

So I would go with a laptop and plug it to a monitor which the Alienware 14 is more than capable of and play at almost above 70-80+ FPS on High.

Of course it does have twice the performance as the PS4! A laptop with any Core i5/i7 and GTX 860M/770M or higher will kick PS4's ass. PS4 isn't even close to these specs.

A GTX 880M is almost as fast as the desktop GTX 770.

Consoles will always be the most bang for the buck when gaming (a high-end console is 500$ + your tv which you probably had already, a high end laptop/pc is around 2000$), Consoles are easier to control (installation, buying, connecting, etc), better controls (without the trouble of having to deal with usb controllers for pcs), games will always run at 100%, Big Games on a Tiny OS made solely for gaming. However, laptops/pcs are made not only for gaming but for video/image editing, web surfing, and casual gaming.

This 'pc masterrace' thing equals to comparing your watch and your cellphone.

The PS4 isn't this powerful. It can play BF4 on high settings, 45-60FPS and 900p. That's only about the performance as the R7-260X.

Well said.

Consoles = Plug & Play with games, Watch = Instant display for time
PC= Well beyond gaming and more settings, but more time consuming, Smartphone = take out your phone and turn on display for time but apps for tons of things.
