Laptop problem (dell inspiron e 1505)

Solution
According to the pic you uploaded it seems the bios has detected that the CD ROM has been disconnected from the motherboard or some other failure of CD ROM has caused this. Was the laptop dropped causing connection cable to become loose? .....seems opening up laptop is required. You can try safe boot by pressing f8 when laptop is rebooting then go to device manager if safe boot works and uninstall CD ROM driver and restart and see if it boots up normally.

Hi

your link does not want to show the picture so I have not seen it.

The usual cause of problem with laptop DVD drives
is (1) a dead drive
or (2) a bad connection between sata conector in laptop and on DVD drive

Usually only one screw holds the DVD drive in place

If you remove battery & charger
then remove mounting screw and pull DVD drive out and then re insert it
replace screw

If the location of mounting screw is not obvious go to Dell website and download the service manual for your laptop

Try accessing the DVD drive again
