Hi.

Currently shopping around and looking at two models:

Asus M3Np $1650 CA
Dell Inspiron $1750 CA or so depending on config

When comparing the 2, I like the M3Np because it has an SXGA+ vs WXGA
screen, has better battery life. I like the Dell because it is lighter
and smaller and the screen is probably better quality and it has
TV-out.
I don't think the Asus has TV-out but not sure.

I'm leaning towards the Asus as I prefer the SXGA+ screen more than
the size difference.

Are there any other models that provide these specs for that price?
What about at a higher price $2000 CA, $2500 CA?

SXGA+ or better
Pentium M
512 MB RAM
60+ GB HD
DVD-ROM
Wireless G
<= 5 lbs

Bought mine from Refurb depot. Then paid $75 for a 3 year warranty from
"Mack Camera" It doesn't cover dropping it or spilled liquids but for parts
failure it is great. Mine looks BRAND NEW can't find anything wrong. I've
had mine for about a year and had no problems. 15.7 Wide screen, AMD 2200M,
60 gig HD, DVD/CDRW, wireless "G", firewire, USB 2.0, LAN, 56k modem.
Windows XP and Mandrake Linux all for under a thousand. Still a good deal a
year later.
