I recently purchased my own router/modem all in one Motorola SBG6580. My windows Vista laptop connects wireless to the router but not the internet. The laptop will connect to the internet if I plug the laptop directly into the router/modem.

All of my other devices connect wireless to the new modem/router and the internet with no problems (ie. Iphones, I pads, Nook readers, Ruku, Smart TV and Direct TV).

Also, I have taken my laptop to a friends house and tried wireless connecting to his router and internet and it connected fine, no problem. It just will not connect to my internet at home via my new modem/router.

Do I:

1. Need to make changes to the computers security to access my modem?

2. Need to make changes to the new modem/router settings?

3. Need to download updated files for my Windows Vista to connect to the internet via my new modem/router?

4. Need to download updated files for the modem/router for my computer to access?

Thank you very much for your help!
