laptop won't connect to TV by HDMI stuck in safe mode via Msconfig stupidly

Have an HP computer and the screen is busted out on it and will not display anything so I have it connected to a TV normally which works fine regularly. Now I booted into safe mode via MS config and cannot see a thing and do not know how to get out of safe mode or to get the screen to view through the television in safe mode. Please please help me

Just to clarify:

a) The HDMI conncection used to work even with the defective laptop screen?
> That means the display setting is/was either Duplicate these displays or Show only on 2.

b) When you originally connected the laptop to your TV, did you make any changes to the display settings?

c) Then something happened that forced you to run in safe mode?
> I suspect the display setting is Duplicate these displays, which would explain the computer's problems dealing with an OK monitor (TV) and a defective monitor (laptop screen).

d) Can you boot into the BIOS or don't you get any video signal at all from the HP?
> If VIDEO=YES, open the HP in safe mode and change the display settings to Show only on 2. That should cancel the safe mode.
> If VIDEO=NO, you may have to replace the defective laptop panel.
