Hello there guys!

I have a sony vaio vpcec3m1e/bj that recently broke its screen. 🙁

its specs:
RAM 4 GB (installed)
HD 500 GB - Serial ATA-150 - 5400 rpm
Screen 17.3" TFT 1600 x 900 (WXGA++)
Intel Core i5 460M / 2.53 GHz
Ati Mobility Radeon hd5650

after a bit of research I found this one

http://www.amazon.com/Sony-VPC-EC3M1E-replacement-Display-Screen/dp/B00H26ZVM2

and it is WUXGA HD with bigger resolution than I currently have : 1920Χ1080.

Questions:

Can I replace my current lcd panel with this one?

If not what should I do?

If yes, will there be any significant difference in output quality? (WXGA++ vs Wuxga hd)

Thanks in advance!

if its the same size sceen, it should fit as a replacement. the higher resolution will appear crisper, but you may struggle in games

I'm sure, because it can drive external monitors at that resolution.

Nothing in the hardware of a HD5650M gpu prevents a 1920x1080 resolution from working.
