LED tv to RCA

witch i have connected to a Amazone Fire tv box to a 5.1 ch RCA home theater? the TV is already connected to the fire tv box through the HDMI port. I get sound from the fire box to tv thats perfectly fine. The problem is i want sound from my streaming box( Fire tv box) as wel as i am watching channel tv both on my RCA 5.1 ch. home theater. i tried to plug an RCA cable throughout the tv to the home theater but it was in vain so please some professional help.

To check if the TV audio output works plug headphones into it. You might need to activate it in the TV menu.
Connect that to the HTS. Select the input you connected it to. Set the surround mode to one made for a stereo input.
