Lenovo Edge 2 problem with response once powered on

When I power on the laptop the "Lenovo TM" shows on the screen along with the "circle" showing it is active. Then it does nothing. It won't accept "enter" or any other key. When I power it off again and back on I get nothing other than the light on the "num lock" key that indicates there is power?

Question from cmstrs71 : "I'm having the same problem as communicated above with C12 Friedman. How do I take out the battery?"

My Lenovo Edge 2 won't bring up the sign-on screen. When I power it on the "Lenovo TM" shows with the circle showing it's working then it goes into a mode with no response when I hit "enter" or any other button. I read that a fix was to unplug the AC, take the battery out, go through as series of pressing the "power" button in 1 sec. intervals, etc. How do I take the battery out?
