Lenovo G40-45 80E3 Won't Start-up. Power and Charging light is on but nothing happens. Also when on, computer shuts off.

My mother's Lenovo G40-45 80E3 won't start-up. I press the power button, both power and charger buttons turn on but nothing on the screen happens and its just black as if it's never been turned on. After a minute or 2, the computer seems to turn off then turn back on by itself in an attempt to start but the problem continues and nothing changes. I took out the battery and charger, held for 30 secs, nothing changed. I tried every other official method for fix and nothing works. Sometimes it does start-up and work like normal but then eventually the computer turns off on it's own and the non-start up problem continues. Please help. Can anyone tell me the problem and if there's any solution?

My personal opinion is that the motherboard is shot. Classic symptoms. Source a new mobo (ebay for example) or replace the laptop.
