Question Lenovo Ideapad 300

Hi all,
I' struggling with my laptop. I may have accidentally downloaded a virus. It's pretty fatal.
I basically only get an error with a QR code. The error is, "0x000021a, your pc ran into a problem and needs to restart. We're just collection some error info."
I scanned the QR code and it takes me to MS site, but it's not helping. I can't get past the LENOVO splash screen.
I CAN get into BIOS, but nothing else. I tried to use the USB tool that I downloaded from MS, but it won't even go past that.

Any ideas? Can I reformat the HD? Will that take care of any virus?

So, I've been able to get into the DOS prompt. I've run CHKDSK on the D: drive and have some errors. The biggest one is "failed to transfer logged messages to the event log with status 50."
"Stage 2: examining file name linkage..." at this point there are several entries that are incorrect.

So, it says I'm only in read-only mode. How can I get write mode and get it to start fixing errors?

Did you try running it using the following...

chkdsk /f /r

(be sure the spaces are included before the /)

I did get the pc to start repairing the disks. I didn't know I had so many drive to repair from.
