I have a Lenovo Y40 Laptop with an Intel 15-4210U CPU @ 1.70Ghz (4 CPUs), ~2.4GHz and a Radeon R9 M275X GPU. A few months ago I sent it to Lenovo to replace the keyboard, and when it came back I was informed they also replaced the motherboard. Ever since, I have been having an issue where I can load up a game and it will run at a smooth 60fps and then drop to 10-15 a few minutes in. I'm fairly certain it is being throttled for getting too hot, but why all of the sudden after being sent in to the company, especially considering they cleaned it too so there wouldn't be dust in the fans.

Solution
You can download a temperature monitoring utility like Speedfan or CoreTemp to confirm that your laptop is throttling. Could be that Lenovo did a sloppy job putting thermal paste on your new motherboard.
