lenovo z500 or z510

Guys I going to buy my first laptop and I m confused whether to buy lenovo z500 with 3rd gen i5 3320, 6gb ram, nvidia 740m 2gb and a 720p screen or wait for z510 to hit the market as it has 4th gen i7 , same nvidia 740m 2gb card and 1080p screen? I will be mostly using it for gaming. Thanks in advance

Both are useless if you want to game, 740m is extremely slow, even for 720p. For the price they are at you can build a top end desktop.

I m in a college so going for a laptop and going higher is out of my budget. I will be happy if it can play games like battlefield3, crysis3, fifa13, etc on med to high settings

Thanks for your info, so that means z500 with 2gb 740m is a good choice and btw can u tell me at what price you got your laptop it will be helpfull to compare it with my area.

Get the Z510, don't know why people are saying the 740m is slow, it's not it's quite fast. The 750m is the highest middle end card available for mobile and outclasses the 740m by less than 20%. I would recommend the z510 as it is the latest version of the z5## series. It would make no sense to get the z500 rather than the z510. However, I would recommend waiting as I see no option for a dedicated graphics card, and they will probably go on sale soon enough.

well they have gone on sale in us but in India they are not even launched yet, probably they will come in october.
