Hey so I have the Lenovo Z585, and it has 512mb of dedicated video memory. and 2.9gb of shared video memory. So it has a descent amount of dedicated memory but will the shared memory also help out maybe give me performance near 1gb of dedicated memory? And would that benefit if i got 8gb of ram instead of 6gb (which i currently have). On CanYouRunIt for the DayZ mod it recommends a little over 800mb of dedicated memory. Would between the dedicated and shared memory would i have that kind of performance? everything else passes with flying colors. Also just to 'toot my own horn a little' this laptop is pretty good for what i payed 500 dollars and i can play skyrim on high very nicely as well. It works even better with the 360 controller compatibility. ANYWAY so what do you think? Because i know this year there will be a DayZ standalone. Any advice or discussion is appreciated!

No, I'm sorry but there's no way to change a video cards dedicated video memory, it stays at 512mb, the only real way to get higher is to get a better video card. Also to your second question 6gb is plenty enough to help run your DayZ. If your looking to get a new graphics card heres some cheap but great suggestions, my first is a very cheap video card that can easily run the game you'd like to play, this video card is the PNY GeForce GT 610, http://www.amazon.com/PNY-GeForce-GT-610-VCGGT610XPB/dp/B008EM4M78 this card is $53, very cheap, another card is the EVGA GT 640, this is more expensive but a lot better, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130795 , this card is $94. I hope this helps with your problem :). Sorry about that :p
