Lexar jumpdrive users manual guide

Hello, I bought my first lexar jumpdrive yesterday. Followed salesperson's instructions. Nothing works.So what are the basics for downloading pictures and music onto my memory stick?

Find the photos, files, etc... that you want, plug in the drive, and simply drag the files over onto it. Is the drive showing up when you plug it in?
