Westinghouse flat screen tv worked fine with my Bose receiver. I connected audio (l/r red and white audio cables) from tv to AUX port on receiver. Worked great. Turned receiver to AUX to listen to tv via receiver.
I bought a larger LG tv ( not smart tv and doesn’t have digital optical output to my knowledge) and connected the same way. I keep reading the LG doesn’t have audio output. Does that apply only to the lg smart TVs?

Your model TV doesn't seem to have any audio outputs at all.
I am sure other LG models have optical audio outputs.
Don't see any mention of smart functions on that model either. Only a USB port.
