LG LRA_516 DVD RECORDER, playing a dvd I get sound but no picture

I have a LG LRA_516 DVD RECORDER, playing a dvd I get sound but no picture. I tried two different tvs and different dvd outputs and different cables, still sound but no picture. The dvd was bought used and in working order it is also in excellent condition. I also get an "LG screen" upon turn on for 1/2 a second, nothing after that. I cannot get a setup screen.

You said it was bought used, did it ever work? If not, does not seem like "working order".

I have had a TV that did not work with a DVD player same way, no image but sound. Was probably due to different HDMI standards on the connections.

This unit has no HDMI, I used the RCA plugs. According with the seller--- Nothing wrong with it.

Well, you tried with different TVs, different cables, different connections, really only thing left would be the thing is bad unless you keep hooking it up wrong each time. Have someone that knows a bit about hooking up A/V stuff look at how you have it setup. If all looks good, only thing remaining would be the device is bad.

Spoke to LG doesn't sound to be worth fixing, they did provide me with a LG repair shop, about 25 miles away. The previous owner told me to try the component video output (red, green, blue plugs) I get sound and a green screen.
