LG TV, LG Soundbar, LG DVD PLayer

Hi Guys,

I recently bought an LG Soundbar (http/www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/tv-dvd-blu-ray/dvd-blu-ray-home-cinema/home-cinema-systems/lg-nb3530a-wireless-soundbar-21328899-pdt.html#longDesc) which offers Optical audio out which i have connected to my television (http/www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/9157899.htm)

I was thinking of buying this LG BluRay DVD player (http/www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/1877146.htm) which only has power and HDMI ports.

My burning question is, will i be able to get audio from the dvd player through my soundbar with just a HDMI connection between the DVD player and the TV?

Based on the way you described it the answer is yes.

HDMI carries video and audio into the tv, the optical audio carries the audio to the soundbar.
